Thomas Simaku's Music in Holland

Performed by internationally renowned musicians, Thomas Simaku's music is featured in the Moderne Muziek Nijmegen in Holland on 20th March 2022.

Soliloquy II for Solo Cello will be performed by the soloist of the Ensemble Intercontemporain Eric-Maria Couturier, whereas pianist Roman Descharmes, professor at the Paris Conservatoire, will perform Simaku’s L’image Oubliée d’après Debussy.          

Together with the Ensemble Intercontemporain clarinettist Jérôme Comte, they will also perform works by French composers Philippe Huriel, Lionel Bord and Bruno Mantovani.

Soliloquy II was recorded by Neil Heyde on Naxos Records in 2008, whereas L’image Oubliée d’après Debussy, commissioned by the York Late Music Series to mark the centenary of the Debussy’s death in 2018, has been recorded by Joseph Houston on BIS Records and was released in 2020.

Thomas Simaku’s debut at Moderne Muziek Nijmegen Festival was in 2019, where two of his works Catena I for Piano and con-ri-sonanza for Piano & String Quartet received their world premieres performed by Joseph Houston and Quatuor Diotima.
