'Coming Home' was written for and dedicated to The Northern Lights Duo (Bente lllevold and David Earll), who commissioned it. 

Before composing this piece, the Duo expressed their strong interest in having a new piece that could be inspired by the "Bloop," the Transatlantic Telegraph Cables, and/or an American Folk Song as the source material.
