Delta Saxophone Quartet

Late Music is the 8th album release by the Delta Saxophone Quartet which marks joint 40th anniversary celebrations for the quartet and Late Music York.

Here the quartet embarks on an enchanting sonic audio journey traversing waymarkers, cul-de-sacs and crossroads mapped by four decades of creativity and exploration by one of Europe’s best known contemporary music groups.

This music covers a diverse timeline of 18 tracks many premièred at Late Music. Inspirations are varied ranging meteorological seasons, poets & snow, tidal forces, amateur film, damascene delights, tearing love, lockdowns, infused by a sip of Dutch courage post punk Haçienda!

This joint anniversary release reflects on both the past and the present with a looking glass glimpse into the future. Like all good parties, this travelogue wouldn’t be complete until the mezzo soprano has spoken.
